If you’re craving authentic Korean food in Applewood, Mississauga, Song Cook’s Korean Restaurant & Chi-Mac is the place to go. Tucked away in a small strip mall off Dundas, this cozy spot is dishing out bold flavours, hearty portions, and some of the best Korean comfort food you’ll find in the area. Whether you’re new to Korean cuisine or a longtime fan, Song Cook’s has something special to offer.

Start your meal with their kimchi pancake, a savoury and spicy pancake that’s crispy on the outside and tender inside. It’s a perfect appetizer for sharing. As a traditional Korean restaurant, kimchi and a number of small bites will arrive with your meal.

Speaking of meals, for mains, both the bulgogi and bibimbap are standouts. The bulgogi, a marinated beef dish, arrives sizzling hot, rich with sweet and savoury flavours. The meat is tender, and the onions and vegetables cooked alongside it add a perfect crunch. If you prefer something spicy, their haemul sundubu-jjigae—a seafood hotpot with spicy tofu—packs just the right amount of heat.

Of course, no visit to Song Cook’s is complete without trying their Chi-Mac—a beloved Korean combo of crispy fried chicken and cold beer. Their fried chicken is perfectly seasoned, extra crunchy, and available in a variety of sauces. The sweet and spicy glaze is a crowd-pleaser, but the classic crispy version is just as addictive.

Can’t decide? Try one of their combos, which come with jjajangmyeon, a black bean noodle dish, along with one other option—we recommend the fried chicken.
