The rain cometh: Applewood to see heavy rainfall and possible flooding
With significant rainfall and mild temperatures on Wednesday, Applewood, Mississauga may experience flooding.
Applewood, Mississauga is expecting “significant rainfall and mild temperatures” on Wednesday, according to Environment Canada. The rainfall, projected to be between 10 and 20cm in total, will come fast and could cause flooding, especially with the combination of warm weather, which should melt most of the remaining snow from last month’s snow storms.
The last time we had significant rainfall (without melting snow), the flooding shut down certain roads in and near Applewood, including Dixie Road, just south of Dundas, under the GO train overpass. Dundas itself experienced flooding at the intersection with Dixie, right by the Pizza Pizza.
Whatever Wednesday brings, it’s likely to be a wet commute. Plan your day accordingly!
